What We DO
OUR FOCUS
I Demand Access is dedicated to empowering and transforming girls’ world and inspiring a limitless future in their community.
I.D.A. raises funds to provide scholarships, school supplies, and educational support to girls, ensuring they have access to quality education. In sub-Saharan Africa, 32 million girls of primary school age are out of school, with countries like Malawi facing significant challenges in achieving educational equality. By supporting education, we help break the cycle of poverty and open doors to a brighter future.
I.D.A. supports healthcare initiatives such as home-based palliative care and rural clinics because we understand girls and women are often the caregivers in rural families. By providing these healthcare initiatives, we ensure girls can attend school instead of missing out to care for the sick. In Malawi, only 12% of the population has access to basic healthcare services, making our efforts even more crucial.
Safe and secure housing is a basic human right. In Malawi, about 63% of the population lives below the national poverty line, making secure housing a critical issue. What is more astounding is that many are single mother headed families with many children to look after. Join us in creating a future where every girl has a place to call home so that they can go to school.
Equality knows no bounds. We’re fighting to dismantle barriers and create a world where girls have equal rights and opportunities. We support girls’ programs in arts and sports, fostering an environment where they can thrive. In Malawi, gender inequality remains pervasive, with women and girls facing significant disparities in education, health, and economic opportunities.
