In September 2024, I Demand Access’s proud Board President Dr. Don Thomas led an incredible series of events. Ida and Ted traveled to Los Angeles to meet with the latest group of University of Michigan students who had recently visited Malawi in October. This marks the sixth year in a row that the University of Michigan has sent students to support OTK.
During their time in LA, Ida and Ted took the opportunity to raise awareness about OTK’s work, spending two busy weeks giving presentations and speaking at various locations. The Immaculate Heart Community (IHC) has grown into a strong supporter of OTK and its impactful efforts.
Additionally, Ida sat down with Hollywood star Pauley Perrette for a memorable interview.
Ida also hosted a special “Celebration of Ida” event, where she welcomed friends and supporters for an intimate chat and Q&A session, answering all their questions.
Ida Puliwa is a passionate advocate for community development and empowerment through her organization, the Othakarhaka Foundation (OTK). Committed to improving lives in Malawi, OTK focuses on girls’ education, health, and sustainable development initiatives. With Ida’s leadership, the foundation continues to foster partnerships and engage with global supporters, creating lasting change for the communities it serves.
